Kente Cloth

This week we are reading Seven Spools of Thread. The Seven Ashanti brothers learn that working together makes them stronger. The Ashanti brothers in the story make beautiful cloth to give to their people. One type of cloth similar to this is Kente Cloth. The icon of African cultural heritage around the world, Asante Kente cloth is identified by its dazzling, multicolored patterns of bright colors, geometric shapes, and bold designs.

This week we will make our own paper versions of the Kente cloth. Check out the blog to see pictures of our cloth!
